London Tenants Federation has submitted a response to the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) consultation on the drafted, revised consumer standards. These new standards include:

  • The Safety and Quality Standard
  • The Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard
  • The Neighbourhood and Community Standard
  • The Tenancy Standard

Our response was compiled via a multi-part process. First, a tenant representative developed a draft response based upon LTF’s policy positions, its work with the London Housing Panel and the charity’s past consultation submissions. This draft was shared with tenant representatives ahead of a virtual meeting, held on 19th September 2023. Tenant representatives who were unable to make the meeting were invited to share their thoughts via email. Feedback and discussions from this meeting, and shared by those who could not attend, were then integrated into an updated draft response. This new version was shared widely, with a request for further feedback by 1 October 2023; subsequent feedback was incorporated. Our final submission is downloadable at the bottom of the page.

LTF encourages others — whether as individuals or organisations — to indicate their support of LTF’s submission or/and write their own submission. We invite you to use our submission as a guide.

Please note: the consultation closes on 17th October 2023 at 6pm.
