In this podcast, two representatives of St Martin’s Estate Tenants and Residents Association talk about how they deal effectively with repair problems, hold their landlords to account and create “a sense of a community and bit of solidarity” on their estate.St Martin’s is a large housing estate in Lambeth. It was mainly constructed from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s, initially with 1,300 homes, by the London Council Council and its replacement Greater London Council.In 1982, it became a Lambeth Council estate as GLC housing was devolved to the boroughs.Later, in 1990, the estate was transferred to three different housing associations.
