On 13th July 2024, LTF held a General Meeting alongside its AGM. Pat Turnbull, one of our regional delegates, led a discussion on the Big Issues facing LTF and reminded us all to not be complacent now there is a new government in Westminster. The issues are:1. the neglect and underfunding of social housing for the past 40 odd years2. repairs or the lack of repairs and refurbishment3. unaffordable increases in rent and service chargesAs Pat says, “To make headway on these big issues, we need the voices of tenants.
This makes our conference today Refreshing our London Tenants organisation very important.
And I urge everyone here, and everyone you know, to revive and revitalise our tenants’ and residents’ associations, our area tenants’ panels, our borough tenants’ organisations, and our housing association tenants’ organisations.
