Demolition or refurbishment? Which is best for residents?

LTF representative, Pat Turnbull, is here featured in a video in 2015 by University College London (UCL)’s Engineering Exchange, highlighting the many challenges, iniquities and pressures faced by social housing residents facing demolition on their estates.

Regeneration “goes on for years, for a large chunk of your lifetime,” says Pat.

“And unfortunately our experience is that once these regeneration schemes start, the council homes are demolished and are replaced mainly by market homes.”
